چکیده
Aim: In this study, it was aimed to investigate the effects of beta glucan (BG) on experimental colitis model created by using trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS). Material and Methods: Thirty-two Wistar Albino rats were divided equally into four groups as sham control, TNBS, TNBS-BG3, TNBS-BG10 groups. While saline administrated group, TNBS administered intrarectally under anesthesia. BG at a dose 100 mg/kg oral gavage, intragastrically, for 3 days (TNBS+3) TNBS-BG3 group 10 (7+TNBS+3) group. At end macroscopic, histological biochemical tests applied colon tissues taken. Results: It determined histopathological scoring results that administration caused positive damage due colitis. Malondialdehyde level myeloperoxidase activity found be significantly higher in compared other (p=0.003 p<0.001, respectively). Antioxidant levels increased treated increase statistically significant among glutathione (p<0.001), not catalase enzyme (p=0.218). reduced lipid peroxidation leukocyte infiltration tissue. Positive changes prophylactic effect results. Conclusion: has been show anti-inflammatory antioxidant properties, treatment potential reducing tissue TNBS-induced

Protective effect of dizocilpine (MK-801) on TNBS-induced experimental colitis in mice
Ulcerative colitis is chronic and recurrent disease of the gastrointestinal tract with uncertain etiology and incomplete treatment options. N-methyl-d-aspartate (NMDA) receptor suppression has shown anti-inflammatory effects in vitro and in vivo. The aim of present study was to evaluate the role of dizocilpine (MK-801), a noncompetitive NMDA receptor antagonist, on TNBS (trinitrobenzene sulfoni...

متن کاملProtective effects of citicoline on TNBS-induced experimental colitis in rats.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of citicoline on the development of colitis and antioxidant parameters in rats subjected to tribenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS)-induced colitis. Twenty four Wistar Albino female rats were divided into four subgroups (n=6) (control, colitis control, colitis + 50 mg/kg citicoline, colitis + 250 mg/kg citicoline). Colitis was induced using an enema ...
متن کاملThymol has beneficial effects on the experimental model of ulcerative colitis
Objective: Thymol, a natural aromatic monoterpene phenol derived from thymus, possesses anti-inflammatory benefits. Here, we evaluated the potential of thymol therapy in improving an animal model of ulcerative colitis. Materials and Methods: Luminal instillation of acetic acid was used to induce colitis in male Wistar rats. Treatment groups daily received...

Purpose: In this study, the effect on heart, kidneys and liver organs in TNBS-induced Ulcerative colitis was investigated. Method: Twenty mice were randomly divided into two groups, which included normal group and model group. The model of chronic colitis was induced by 50% TNBS. The model of chronic colitis was verified by body weight, H&E staining. Heart, kidneys and liver organs were tested ...
